Tom Young is the Vice President of the Neuse River Writers and a constant presence at their weekly breakout group, “Telling Our Stories”. He enjoys writing poetry and short stories primarily in children and animal genres but is known to go wherever the story or his mind takes him.
He is an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the North Carolina Poetry Society, and the North Carolina Writers Network.
Tom is happily married to his lovely wife of over twenty years, Tara. He is usually found outdoors hiking, biking, traveling, or playing golf. He also spends time with his love of rescuing local cats and dogs as an active volunteer with Red Barn Rescue and the Johnston County Animal Protection League.
